Women's Circle

Women's Circle provides women of all ages an opportunity to get involved in local philanthropy.

Members pay annual membership dues of $100. We meet quarterly and have programs focusing on various health topics. With the funds raised through our corporate sponsors and individual memberships we award grants to community organizations for programs impacting the health of women.

The first meeting of the Women’s Circle was held in September 2008. The purpose is to promote and strengthen women’s healthcare through education and philanthropy. The Circle was started by the BSA Foundation to educate the community on what was going on at the hospital and fund women’s programs at the hospital. In 2013, the Women’s Circle became a program of the of the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation after the sale of the BSA Hospital. The grants program is open to all area non-profits with programs impacting the health of women

The mission of the Women’s Circle is to support projects that improve the health and well-being of women.

2019 Women’s Circle Grants

The Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation is pleased to announce that the Women’s Circle will be accepting grant requests beginning on September 9, 2019.  The Women's Circle pools time, talent and resources between women who share a common interest in healthcare.  With pooled funds ($100 annual membership dues) and Corporate Sponsorships, Circle members take a hands-on approach in distributing the funds to impact the healthcare of women through a grants award process.

Funding is available to area non-profits who are seeking funds to assist with needs and/or programs that focus specifically on impacting the health of women.  Programs or projects that serve women of all ages are eligible for consideration.  Grants are awarded in amounts of up to $5,000.

Applications are due Friday, October 4, 2019.  Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and a recommendation will be sent to and voted on by the Circle Membership before the quarterly meeting on November 7, 2019.  Successful applicants will be notified before this meeting.  It is our hope that all grant recipients will have a representative attend the meeting on November 7th to share about what the awarded funds will be used for.
